Introducing the NEW Zapelin Band Rover – Micro ZMS Digital Headend. IPTV to DVB-T or ISDB-T with up to 20 Channels. The completely re-engineered Micro ZMS now takes transcoded IPTV channels (from the Zapelin Cloud) to generate a DVB-T or even ISDB-T output with just 1 MUX to “inject” up to 20 channels into an existing Coaxial Network. Thanks to the Micro ZMS, the TV’s on the Coaxial Network simply need to be “re-tuned” to detect the new IPTV channels that are being injected.  The Micro ZMS has a single BCN connector.  It is simply necessary to connect a Coaxial Cable from the Micro ZMS to the Headends of the Hotel/Community.

The ZMS has been completely re-engineered by delegating over 90% of the heavy duty computation processes to the Zapelin Cloud. This is where all the sources are re-encoded, optimised and fused together into one single Multiplex that is delivered to the Micro ZMS over the Internet.  The Micro ZMS will generate 1 single MUX that can contain up to 20 channels.  The Output can be either DVB-T or ISDB-T. (Always MPEG4/H.264).

Built to last
Due to the overall system optimisation, we have been able to remove components that are no longer necessary.  As the heat generating hardware is gone, there is no further need for cooling so the Micro ZMS has absolutely no turning parts.  Absence of ventilation holes prevents dust from getting in making the Micro ZMS much more durable. Although the new internal components require no cooling, the circuitry is being naturally cooled thanks to the very nature of the materials holding it all together – top grade Aluminium. The Aluminium Unibody design makes the Micro ZMS the most portable, robust and resistant ZMS to date.

Zapelin Cloud

 

1. IPTV Sources / Fuentes IPTV.

Channel proprietors, IPTV channel providers as well as your own Streams can be delivered to the Zapelin Cloud. Currently, there are various IPTV content providers as well as Channel Proprietors delivering and feeding their streams into the Zapelin Cloud ready for you to use with your Micro ZMS (check territorial permission).

2. Zapelin Cloud

The Zapelin Cloud makes sure that the formats & quality standards of the IPTV sources are as optimal as possible. Each stream will be transcoded and optimised so that it is ready to be used.  The available sources are listed in the Zapelin Cloud so you can select the channels you actually need.  Once you have configured your Micro ZMS profile through the online interface, the Zapelin Cloud will “fuse” together the selected sources, compress them and generate 1 MUX ready to be delivered over the Internet to the designated Micro ZMS.

El Zapelin Cloud comprueba la calidad y formatos de las fuentes IPTV para que sean lo mas óptimos posible.  Cada Stream pasa por un proceso de transcoding y optimización.  Las fuentes disponibles se agregan a la lista de canales para que usted pueda seleccionar los canales que realmente necesita.  Una vez configurado el perfil del Micro ZMS mediante la herramienta online, el Zapelin Cloud comienza a “fusionar” los streams seleccionados, comprimirlos y generar un MUX listo para ser enviado por Internet al Micro ZMS.

3. Micro ZMS

The Micro ZMS must be connected to a dedicated Internet Bandwidth connection with DHCP enabled and enough bandwidth to handle the amount of selected channels (eg. 21Mbits minimum for 20 channels).
The Micro ZMS must be connected to the establishment Coaxial Cable Network with a BNC connector.
Once the Micro ZMS is “online”, it will contact the Zapelin Cloud to request instructions.  The Zapelin Cloud will immediately start delivering the MUX as was configured in the previous step.  The Micro ZMS will then generate an OUTPUT signal in either DVB-T or ISDB format and inject the entire MUX with all channels.

El Micro ZMS se debe alimentar con una conexión exclusivamente dedicada de Ancho de Banda Internet con DHCP habilitado con suficiente ancho de banda para la cantidad de canales deseados. (Ejemplo 21Mbits como mínimo para 20 canales).  El Micro ZMS se debe conectar también a la red coaxial del establecimiento con un conector BNC.
Cuando el Micro ZMS se encuentre “online”, este se conecta automáticamente con el Zapelin Cloud a la espera de sus instrucciones.  El Zapelin Cloud comenzará a entregar el MUX según la configuración realizada en el paso anterior.  El Micro ZMS genera una señal de SALIDA en formato DVB-T o ISDB-T para inyectar todos los canales del MUX en la red coaxial.

4. Enjoy your new channels / A disfrutar de sus nuevos canales

After simply re-tuning the TV in the Hotel Room, you will find that the channels injected by the Micro ZMS have been added and are available to enjoy. The TV’s must be compatible with MPEG4/H.264.

Frequency Bands: UHF, VHF – LCN (Logical Channel Number) allows you to personalise the order in which the channels are listed. Most parameters are configurable with the ZMF (Zapelin Media Framework) which can be done through a Remote Connection.  Physical presence is not necessary as long as the ZMS has an Internet connection. Can Inject a maximum of 20 channels in MPEG4 The TV’s on the Coaxial Network must be at least MPEG4 compatible in order to be able to tune the channels injected by the Micro ZMS. Micro ZMS DimensionsIPTV Channel source: Any IPTV sources as well as any other media must be managed by the Zapelin Cloud.  The Zapelin Cloud will re-encode & optimise the sources so that they are compatible.  The selected content & sources are then “fused” together into a single MUX (Multiplex) and delivered to the Micro ZMS over the Internet. If there are IPTV channels that you wish to obtain from certain IPTV providers, it is essential that they provide our technicians with the Stream so that this can be managed by the Zapelin Cloud. The system can then get to work and “inject” it into the Coaxial TV Network or make it available through ZiFi Wireless Television.

Requirements

1. Dedicated Internet Bandwidth connection.
In order to obtain the IPTV content from the Zapelin Cloud, it is necessary to have a dedicated & exclusive Internet Bandwidth connection for the Micro ZMS. The larger the Bandwidth, the more IPTV channels that can be obtained to then be “injected”. It is necessary to account for approximately 1Mbps of consistent Bandwidth for every IPTV channel. For example: A 20Mbit ADSL connection should provide consistent Bandwidth of approximately 14Mbit at least. It should therefore be possible to obtain at least 14 IPTV channels. This is then “injected” into the Coaxial Network to feed an unlimited amount of TV’s / Rooms.

2. TV’s that are compatible with MPEG4/H.264
Most modern TV’s should be compatible with MPEG4/H.264. If you require a ZMS for MPEG2/H.262, please contact us for further information.

3. A qualified technician.
The Micro ZMS must be installed by a qualified engineer that is capable of integrating the Micro ZMS with your TV Headend equipment and ensuring that all the settings are correct in order for your establishment to enjoy the the Micro ZMS with optimal performance.  This is why we recommend that the Micro ZMS is installed by authorised resellers.

The Micro ZMS has a Warranty of 2 years. The Micro ZMS is not an isolated appliance.  It is part of a carefully designed ecosystem that will not work without the Zapelin Cloud. The Micro ZMS is simply the hardware that allows all the magic & versatility of the Zapelin Cloud to appear on the TV screens.
